Plant-Based Diets
What are plant-based diets? There are many variations, and I hope to clarify some of these variations. What are the different ways to be free from all these prevalent diseases? The best answer to this is your diet, specifically a healthy diet. Food is our medicine; it will heal your weakness, provide immunity, and keep you immune. So, what is a plant-based diet? A plant-based diet contains vegetables, beans, legumes, fruits, whole grains, nuts, and seeds. It does not include meat, poultry, wild game, seafood, eggs, dairy (milk, yogurt, cheese), or other foods containing these products.
Given here are some general categories of food and types of plant-based diets. Find your WHY with these food items.
Vegetarian – eats vegetables and fruit, along with eggs and dairy. Vegetables are the healthiest foods on the planet, and they are naturally low in calories, fiber, and nutrients. Green leafy vegetables are essential for optimal health, and you should eat them daily. Vegetables should be the basis of your diet, and enjoy them with your family and friends.
Vegan – eats vegetables, fruits, beans, grains, and no eggs or dairy (may eat soy “meat” or cheese substitutes)
Engine 2 Plant-strong/ Whole Food Plant-Based Diet – whole plant foods, no meat or cheese, no dairy, and no processed foods (imitation meat and cheese substitutes)
Plant-based diets include a variety of food that comes from plants. Many people think of many different types of plant-based diets. For some, a plant-based diet constitutes plant foods, such as fruits, whole grains, nuts, vegetables, and legumes, which are the main focus of their diet. But the occasion, the consumption of meat, fish, or dairy products is also carried out. And when you say a whole plant-based diet, it means no animal product use.
Vegans and vegetarians have the same food principle that plant-based individuals do. Vegetarians do not eat meat, fish, and poultry like vegans, but vegans go further. They exclude all dairy products from their meal – milk, eggs, cheese, etc. The main diet is plant-based, with fruits, vegetables, nuts, berries, legumes, etc. They always stay motivated, and I have also seen many families doing this. If you adhere to a vegan diet, that means no refried beans with lard, margarine made with whey, and anything with gelatin, which comes from animal bones and hooves. Vegans eat processed foods such as fake meat, cheese, and other processed foods if there are no animal products. Vegans do not buy or use products made from animal or animal products, including cosmetics, lotions (lanolin), and clothing (leather).
